Draw and the Bianconeri have one foot in the door for reaching the Champions League last 16. Win and they’re back in the driving seat to qualify as Group H winners.
As far as Juventus and Dani Alves are concerned, it’s the latter option that the boys in black and white will be gunning for tomorrow night, as the Brazilian wing-back made clear during today’s press conference at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Playing for three points
“We’ve not come to Seville to play for a point. Obviously tomorrow’s result will be settled on the field, but we’re here to win and qualify as group leaders, that’s our objective.
“If we were to content ourselves with a draw, we’d be at risk of suffering a nasty surpise. This is a very difficult place to come. I doubt that Sevilla will be looking for anything other than the victory. I know them well. They’re only interested in winning here.”
Sevilla success story
“Sevilla are enjoying a fine run of form at present, but we’re used to playing against sides that are on top of their game. That makes victory over these kinds of teams even more satisfying.
“I’m not surprised by Sevilla’s form. They’ve an incredible new coach, extraordinary players and an excellent general set-up at the club. That’s been the case for some years now. I had the privilege of being a part of the early stages of this project and it’s a great pleasure to return today.”
Experience on our side
“I’m one of many experienced players at Juventus and I have to say that we’ve a very mature dressing room. It’s this maturity that needs to be used in order to overcome difficult tests like tomorrow’s.
