Report: Juve Activate Pjanic Clause

Mediaset claim Juventus have already agreed to pay Miralem Pjanic’s €38m release clause, so now it’s up to the Roma midfielder.

There had been multiple reports of Bianconeri interest in the 26-year-old Bosnia international, above all from Tuttosport and the Corriere dello Sport.

According to Mediaset today, Juve have given the all-clear to activate Pjanic’s release clause for €38m, a thoroughly affordable price-tag for a player of his quality and age.

Max Allegri is eager to get in ahead of the curve, as Pjanic is wanted by the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea.

Once the release clause is activated, the player still has to agree personal terms and he is all too aware of the bitter rivalry between Roma and Juventus.

He has scored 30 goals in 183 competitive games for Roma, marking himself out as a free kick specialist.

Roma press officer Lorenzo Serafini made this comment via Twitter: "No, no clause has been paid by anybody for Miralem Pjanic. Now we'd like to focus on Milan-Roma..."
