Suicide In Juve Investigation

An investigation into criminal infiltrations within Juventus' fan circles thickens as one of the key witnesses commits suicide.

The Gazzetta dello Sport is running a report on the ongoing investigations surrounding the alleged infiltrations within the Juventus fan culture by the 'ndrangheta, the most powerful Italian crime syndicate based in Calabria.

The criminal organisation is allegedly trying to set up contacts with the heads of the fan groups, with a view of slowly creating links within the club itself. Their target is reportedly to control illegal ticket selling as well as have the option of setting up preferential football trials for young players.

One of the main witnesses on the subject, Raffaello Bucci, was the head of the ultras group 'Drughi' and simutaneously worked for Telecontrol as the head of security for the Bianconeri's ticket-selling venues. He also acted as an external consultant for Juventus in the club's relationship with the tifosi.

Bucci had been interrogated on the subject of the 'ndrangheta's illegal ticket touting and their links within the fandom, providing responses which were according to some reports contradictory and unsatisfactory. Only 24 hours later, he stopped his car by the edge of a bridge and leapt off.

He was not under investigation himself, but rather interviewed as a witness.

Another leader of the Drughi, also expected to be interrogated as a key witness, vanished seven days ago and his fate is currently being investigated.
