Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini believes Roma are in better shape than Inter or Napoli at the moment.
Serie A got underway at the weekend, with the Giallorossi thrashing Udinese 4-0 while the Nerazzurri lost to Chievo and Maurizio Sarri’s men were held by Pescara.
Juve got the defence of their title off to a winning start with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina, and the centre-back believes that was important.
“We’re happy with the start we’ve made,” Chiellini told Premium Sport.
“It wasn’t easy because so many of us finished [last season] late and we didn’t have many days to prepare for the game, and you could see that we had a certain attitude.
“Roma are already in a better position, you can see that they’re ahead of schedule with their Champions League preliminary.
“Inter and Napoli struggled, it’s not easy for various reasons, as you saw with us last year. I hope they don’t have our balance to deal with defeats, even if we’re really at the start.”
