Antonio Conte failed to tempt Leonardo Bonucci away from Juventus, but Chelsea are going for Giorgio Chiellini, claims The Sun.
It was well known earlier this summer that Chelsea and Manchester City were in a bidding war for Bonucci, but were told to forget about signing the club symbol.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are instead turning their focus towards his teammate for Juve and Italy.
The proposal is believed to be worth £25m (around €28.9m) for the man who turned 32 this month.
Naturally there’s practically a zero per cent chance of this move going through, as Juve have consolidated their back line and wouldn’t want to break it up for the Azzurri either.
Chiellini is under contract until June 2018 and in negotiations for a renewal.
He has been in Turin since 2005 and is seeking an all-time record sixth consecutive Scudetto.
