Both Juventus' senior and Primavera side sit a top of their respective league tables this evening as goals from Moise Kean and Medhi Leris secured a 2-1 victory for Fabio Grosso's young guns over Cittadella.
The result follows wins over Sevilla in the UEFA Youth League and Bari last weekend to put the Bianconeri in a strong early season position, leading the way both at home (on seven points) and in Europe (three).
Last season's Primavera and Coppa Italia finalists would have to wait until the second half of Friday afternoon's encounter to make a mark on proceedings, the lively Kean slotting home at the back post from Roman Macek's precise free-kick on 64 minutes.
With the wind in their sails, Juve immediately went for the kill and were rewarded with a second goal moments later, Cittadella goalkeeper Alberto Corasaniti pushing Macek's shot into path of Gabriele Bove who teed up Leris for the Frenchman's first strike in the black and white stripes.
The hosts would muster a consolation goal from the penalty spot in stoppage time but the result was never in doubt as the Bianconeri eased to a comfortable away victory in Veneto.
Speaking after the game, coach Grosso had this to say of his team's performance and progress so far in the new campaign: "We have great quality throughout the squad but there is still plenty to improve on. We're only at the start of the season but with so many matches coming thick and fast we need to get up to speed as quickly as possible.
He added, "To really kick on, we must start with the basics which for parts of today were lacking."
Fabio and co. can now look forward to a testing trip to Croatia to meet Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday afternoon in the Youth League where they will look to build on the impressive opening day victory over Sevilla two weeks ago.
