Manchester City are ready to revive their £50m bid for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, as Vincent Kompany is injured again.
Pep Guardiola cited Bonucci as one of his favourite players for his ability to start moves from the back.
A bidding war was held with Chelsea over the summer, but Juve held firm.
Now The Sun claims Manchester City are going back to Bonucci after Kompany managed just one game until sustaining a new injury.
Aleksandar Kolarov is being used as a temporary centre-back, but City will need a new player there in January if Kompany’s problems continue.
