Juve Cruise To Cagliari Win

Juventus put the disappointment of Sunday’s reverse to Inter well and truly behind them, as they romped to a 4-0 victory over Cagliari this evening in Turin.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men began the game extremely brightly and might have taken the lead inside the first ten minutes were it not for former Bianconero stopper Marco Storari’s heroics, keeping out a firm header and an intuitive close-range strike from Gonzalo Higuain.

The home fans would only have to wait until the 14th minute before celebrating their side taking the lead, however, when Storari’s parry on Higuain’s volley from a free-kick fell at the feet of Rugani, who hooked into the net for his first ever goal with Juventus.

Despite being thwarted in the opening stages, Higuain still very much fancied his chances of continuing his rich scoring form. After hitting the post with a wonderful shot on the turn, the Argentine buried the ball past Storari for his fourth goal in as many league outings.

And the Bianconeri made it 3-0 before the break when Dani Alves belted in from approximately 30 yards, the Brazilian right-back opening his Serie A tally with a genuine goal of the month contender.

The chances would continue to come Juve’s way after the break, Dani Alves and then Hernanes both sending piledrivers just whiskers over the crossbar from distance.

In the 83rd minute, the hosts got the fourth goal that their enterprising and relentless attacking play deserved, when Mario Lemina’s shot, initially saved by Storari, rebounded off Luca Ceppitelli and in.

Having very much righted the wrongs of last Sunday in Milan, Allegri and company will look to take the momentum of tonight’s result, their largest margin of victory so far this season, into Saturday’s trip to Palermo.
