Berardi, 21, turned down a move to Juventus last week in favour of staying with the Neroverdi but Inter are now looking to sign the Italy Under-21 international as they seek an alternative to Antonio Candreva.
Inter have put their interest in Candreva on pause after refusing to meet Lazio’s £19.4m valuation of the 29-year-old and are now looking to invest their money elsewhere, with Berardi offering a significantly better proposition.
Juventus were unable to promise Berardi, who is regarded as one of the best young strikers in Italy, a starting position next season but Inter are, which could prove a key difference in his decision this summer.
In the last three Serie A campaigns, only four players have scored more goals than the young Italian.
