Juventus and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci looks set to be Antonio Conte’s first signing as Chelsea manager, having agreed a deal to move to Stamford Bridge.
Conte, who is set to move to the London-based side after the summer’s European Championship in France, has worked closely with Bonucci during their time together in Turin, and the defender is a key part of the current Azzurri side.
According to The Sun, the Blues offered a deal worth €170,000 per week to take Bonucci to England, which has been accepted by the player and his representatives.
Although personal terms appear to have been agreed, Chelsea will likely have a more difficult task on their hands to convince the Bianconeri to part ways with Bonucci, and are expected to submit an offer in the region of €40 million.
The former Inter and Genoa centre back moved to Turin from Bari in 2010, where he has since gone on to make 274 appearances.
